The questions every operator asks first.
Range, charging, payload, the deposit, insurance, cancellation — answered plainly. No fine print buried three pages down. If your question isn't here, call us at (236) 500-6674.
Charging
Will it have the range for my job?
For most BC routes, yes — on a single charge, no mid-day plug-in. Winter, conservative range runs from about 175 km on the Ford E-Transit up to 330 km on the BrightDrop 600, with the Mercedes eSprinter (~250 km) and Lion 6 (~265 km) in between — those are cold-weather figures, so warm-weather range is higher across the fleet. A typical regional run — say Kamloops to Kelowna and back — is around 180 km, so you've got room to spare even in winter. Tell us your route when you book and we'll match you to a van with range left over.
Where and how do I charge it?
Every van leaves the depot at 100%, so for shorter jobs you may not charge at all. When you do: a DC fast charger takes you 0→80% in as little as ~28 minutes on the Ford E-Transit or up to ~2 hours on the Lion 6, and a standard AC plug fills overnight — perfect for parking it at the yard or a job site. We map the nearest fast chargers to your route, and the included charging card handles payment at the public network. Plug in, tap the card, top up, go.
Who pays for charging?
We do. Charging is included in the rate — no separate fuel line, no expensing receipts, no end-of-day trip to a pump. You get a charging card with the van that covers public fast-charging across BC. One flat price, electrons handled.
What if it runs out mid-job?
You won't get stranded. 24/7 roadside is included in every rental — run low and we come to you for a top-up to get you to the next charger, at no extra cost and no surprise bill. Same number for a flat or any other roadside need: (236) 500-6674. Between picking up at a full charge and our route mapping, it rarely comes to this — but it's covered if it does.
Your rental
How much cargo and payload can it carry?
Depends on the van. Cargo volume runs from 13.8 m³ (Ford E-Transit and Mercedes eSprinter) up to ~30 m³ (Lion 6), with the BrightDrop 600 at 17.4 m³. Payload ranges from 1,190 kg (eSprinter) up to 4,500 kg (Lion 6) — the BrightDrop 600 carries up to 1,465 kg and has stand-up 1.93 m interior height for ladders and lengths of pipe. Not sure what fits? Tell us the load when you book and we'll point you to the right size. See the full comparison on our electric work van fleet.
What's the deposit, and when do I get it back?
A refundable $300 deposit is held at pickup. It's released back to you after the van is returned in the same condition it left — typically within a few business days. It's a hold, not a charge: clean return, full deposit back.
What about insurance and $0-deductible protection?
Every rental includes basic insurance. For full peace of mind, add $0-deductible protection for +$12/day — if something happens, you don't pay a deductible out of pocket. Good call for busy multi-driver crews and tight job sites. You can add it at booking or at the counter.
What's your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup — no fee, deposit hold released. Plans shift on jobs, we get it. Cancel or change your dates from your account, your dashboard, or with one phone call.
What do I need at pickup?
A valid driver's licence for the class of van you're renting, plus the card used to book (for the $300 deposit hold). No special EV licence — if you can drive a regular work van, you can drive these; they're automatic and quiet. We give every driver a quick 5-minute walkthrough on charging before you pull out. Adding more drivers? Bring their licences too. Full details on our requirements page.
Can you deliver the van to me?
Yes — on weekly and longer rentals we deliver anywhere in BC. Pick up in person at our depot in Kamloops (1776 Kelly Douglas Rd, live now) or our upcoming Kelowna (Enterprise Way) and Nanaimo (Bowen Rd) depots, or have it brought to your yard or site. See all our locations, or tell us where when you book and we'll sort the logistics.
Accounts & booking
Do I need an account to rent?
No. You can book and manage a rental as a guest — just look up any booking by the email you used at checkout. An account (free) saves your details and puts every rental, receipt, extend and cancel in one place.
How do I cancel or change my dates?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup — the $300 deposit hold is released. Cancel or extend from your account, from the rental dashboard, or by calling (236) 500-6674. Within 24 hours of pickup, give us a call.
Is the deposit a real charge?
No — it's a hold, not a charge. The refundable $300 deposit sits against your card at pickup and is released after the van is returned in the same condition it left, typically within a few business days.
Can I get a receipt for my rental?
Yes. Every rental gets a printable receipt with the full breakdown — van cost, protection, GST, and total charged — available anytime from your account. Print it or save it as a PDF for your records.
