How this planner works

Set your destination (and any stops along the way), pick a van, and we ask the OpenStreetMap routing engine for the real driving distance. Then we simulate the drive against that van's usable battery — adjusted live for how much you're carrying and how cold it is — and work out where you'd stop to DC fast-charge, how long each stop takes, and what charge you'd arrive on. Every trip starts from our Kamloops depot at 100%.

Why we plan on winter range, not the sticker number

An EV's rated range is measured in mild conditions. In a BC winter — cold battery, cabin heat, snow tires, highway speed over a mountain pass — real range drops, and a heavy payload drops it further. Planning a trip on the summer number is how people end up stranded. Who pays for the charging?
